Virtual Behind the Scenes of the Denver Art Museum’s exhibition, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera & Mexican Modernism From the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection

For the first time in Denver, more than 20 artworks by the famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, including paintings and drawings, will be on view. “The (traveling) exhibition will focus on the post-Mexican Revolution artworks of internationally celebrated artists Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and their contemporaries, including Lola and Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Gunther Gerzso, María Izquierdo and Carlos Mérida.”

Join Ann Lambson, Interpretive Specialist at the Denver Art Museum, for a virtual program to learn more about this remarkable exhibition and its prolific artists. Mexican Modernism takes a closer look at the role of art, artists, and their supporters played in the emergence of national identity and creative spirit after the Mexican Revolution ended in 1920.

The virtual program will include an exhibition overview, some behind the scenes insights and the opportunity to ask questions. It will be presented at 4:00 p.m. on Jan 20th and the prepaid cost for each household is $25. Registration and payment are due by January 18th, but this is in high demand, so don’t wait!
