    Volunteering

Neighbors give their time across Cherry Creek North and greater Denver. Here are the causes CCNNA supports year round — pick one that fits your schedule.

    Bromwell Elementary Volunteers

Bromwell Elementary School is seeking CCNNA volunteers to become important resources to their teachers and students. They offer several opportunities to help — from library, music and art helpers, beautification and gardening, technology, and lost and found helpers, to book fairs and Read-a-Thons. The staff has a strong belief that volunteers are an invaluable resource.

    Food For Thought

Food for Thought Denver helps students and their families who may not have enough food to eat, especially on weekends. The group raises funds to provide weekend food bags (PowerSacks) to 79 public schools in Denver. They are looking for volunteers — individual or corporate — every Friday to fill PowerSacks with non-perishable food items to feed a family of four for the weekend.

    Salvation Army Christmas Project

A very popular volunteer event for CCNNA is the annual Christmas project with the Denver Salvation Army, preparing holiday boxes of clothes, food, and toys for those in need. Cherry Creek North joins with Lowry, and each neighborhood is limited to 25 volunteers. To register or for more information, contact Wayne New.

    Snow Angels

Snow Angels assist Denver residents who need help shoveling snow from their sidewalks and driveways during the winter months. Volunteers help older adults, neighbors living with a disability and those temporarily unable to shovel keep walkways clear and avoid fines.

    Food Bank of the Rockies

Igniting the Power of Community to Nourish People Facing Hunger Food Bank of the Rockies is the largest hunger-relief organization in the Rocky Mountain region, making us uniquely suited to answer the enormous challenge of hunger. Since 1978, we’ve put the power of community to work for our neighbors in need through partnerships, programs, and support from people like you. Our mission is to ignite the power of community to nourish people facing food insecurity. We show up for anyone experiencing hunger knowing that food insecurity can impact any of us at various points throughout our lives. The circumstances of the people we support may be different, but we never waver from our mission of nourishing our community members in need of food.

    Shred-a-thon

Support our annual Shred-a-thon event where members bring documents for on-the-spot shredding. All papers are securely destroyed immediately to protect sensitive information.
