Xcel Energy's - Leetsdale to Elati Project Grace Lopez Ramirez, Senior Area Manager, Local Government and Community Affairs, Xcel Energy Grace joined us to share an overview and updates on Xcel Energy’s Leetsdale to Elati Project and to answer questions. Xcel Energy is replacing the six-mile Leetsdale–Monroe–Elati underground transmission line in central and southeast Denver to help meet growing energy needs and improve system reliability. During construction, residents may see temporary road and sidewalk closures, detours, and other routine construction activity. Work is generally scheduled Monday through Saturday, with occasional evening or Sunday work as needed. Watch on Youtube

She served as a Deputy Director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as Director of the Harriman Communications Center. The premier communication center for the party in Washington, D.C. Ms. Eldredge is also the former Chief of Staff for United States Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell. At this meeting, we heard from the experts on fraud and financial abuse, and left with real-world knowledge on how to spot a scam. Mark Fetterhoff is the program manager for AARP ElderWatch, leading education and outreach for over 15 years. Mark currently works with a crew of dedicated volunteers to address thousands of inquiries each month about fraud, scams, and financial exploitation as part of AARP’s fraud helplines. Anthony Aragon is the director of community outreach and engagement for the Denver District Attorney’s Office. General Residents Meeting - August 20, 2024
Keynote Speaker/Traffic Stuart Anderson, Chief Executive Director, Transportation Solutions An internationally recognized speaker on Transportation Demand Management (TDM), Stuart is a 2024 inductee in the Association of Commuter Traffic Hall of Fame. Transportation Solutions (TS) is now Cherry Creek’s Transportation Management Association (TMA) under Denver’s 2021 TDM Ordinance. (See Transportation Management Ordinance pg. 3.) TS works with residents’ organizations, developers, employers and the City to implement various TDM systems. Stuart will outline how these plans will benefit the community, helping to address traffic issues for all new construction in the area. There will be time for questions and answers with Mr. Anderson. CHERRY CREEK WEST DEVELOPMENT UPDATE Amy Cara, Managing Partner, East West Partners, will present the most recent update on Cherry Creek West, the project which will fill the 13 acres at the west end of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center with eight and twelve story residential and office buildings, ground floor retail, and green space for pedestrians and events. A mobility study is being completed to address any traffic issues. 2024 CHERRY CREEK ARTS FESTIVAL (JULY 5–7) Tara Brickell, Executive Director, Cherry Arts, details the annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival which fills the streets of Cherry Creek North with over 250 juried artists ready to share their talent with the world. 2023 CHERRY CREEK DEVELOPMENT REPORT Christine Des Enfants, the Executive Director of the Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce, presented the Chamber’s update on developments in the Cherry Creek Area. The Cherry Creek Area has experienced incredible growth in both its retail, office, and residential developments, which will be clearly illustrated and discussed in her report at the meeting. Christine has given this very informative development report at the Cherry Creek Steering Committee for business and community leaders for several years. Annual Residents Meeting - October 17, 2023
DISTRICT 3 POLICE REPORT Commander Carlos Aragon is the Commander for Denver Police District 3, which covers all of the Cherry Creek area. He will be discussing City and Cherry Creek plans and progress in addressing crime, and the greater presence of police in Cherry Creek and other neighborhoods. He will also introduce his key Cherry Creek police officers and take your questions. FUTURE OF THE CHERRY CRICKET Churchill Bunn, Owner – As you have seen in the BID construction activities, the partial block where the popular Cherry Cricket restaurant is located will be important part of this development. Churchill Bunn will be describing the project construction plans and, especially, how the Cherry Cricket will continue to provide award-winning hamburgers. CCNNA ANNUAL MEETING At the Annual General Resident Meeting in October, CCNNA votes to elect members to its vacant Board seats. Voting on Renewal of Board Members and Association Announcements Future of Denver Water Jim Lochhead, Chief Executive Officer, Denver Water. Water is one of our most important future public issues. You will: (1) learn about water in Colorado and climate change’s impact; (2) explore Denver Water’s role and responsibilities in providing a safe, reliable water supply to 1.5 million people; (3) learn wise water use behaviors, and (4) learn how major municipal water providers across the Colorado River basin will need to commit to significant water reductions in water use. Ross Cherry Creek Library Update Erika Martinez, Director Communications / Community Engagement, Denver Public Library. General Residents Meeting - August 16, 2022
Denver Moves Cherry Creek Walter Scheib, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. This planning project will explore which infrastructure improvements will make it safer and more convenient to walk, bicycle, take transit, deliver goods, and drive in and around the Cherry Creek area. Also being studied are green infrastructure, parking, curbside uses and wayfinding in Cherry Creek. The results of this project will inform how Denver funds, designs, builds, and maintains the future multimodal transportation network of the entire Cherry Creek Area, including whether and how 1st Avenue will be redeveloped with safer pedestrian access. Fraud Protection Maro Casparian, Denver District Attorney Office. The District Attorney’s Consumer Fraud Protection program oversees a comprehensive program to educate consumers about scams and schemes operating in the Denver Metro area, and to assist those who have fallen victim to one of the numerous fraud events. All services of the program are free to the public. Sidewalk Improvement Ballot Initiative Jill Locantore, Exec Dir, Denver Streets Partnership. If passed, the Denver Deserves Sidewalks program would be funded by a modest annual fee charged to property owners. The fee would provide ongoing funding for sidewalk repairs, removing the responsibility for repairs from adjacent property owners and placing this responsibility on the City. Watch on Youtube

This 13 acre area will include green space, underground parking and mixed use buildings to complement the shopping center. The site named Cherry Creek West is being developed by East West Partners, working closely with Taubman Real Estate Group, the owner of the shopping center.
